The Southeastern Indiana Recycling District (SEIRD) is proud to partner with our county governments to offer a recycling and reuse center in each of our seven counties.Each recycling and re-use center has different hours of operation.

• Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), such as chemicals, antifreeze, etc. are accepted  at the SEIRD Processing Center in Madison/JPG on a regular basis.
• SEIRD now offers quarterly opportunities in Franklin, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, and Scott Counties.
• Franklin, Ripley: 2nd Saturday of each quarter
• Jennings and Scott: 3rd Saturday of each quarter
• Switzerland and Ohio: 2nd Saturday of the following quarter month

Franklin

• Town of Brookville *offers curbside collection
• Take unused medicines and used sharps to Franklin County Health Department or Franklin Co. Sheriff's Dept.
• Special Household Hazardous Waste collection 2nd Saturday of each quarter from 8am to 10 am.

Jefferson

• City of Madison *offers curbside collection
• Town of Hanover *offers curbside collection
• Take medical waste and sharps to SEIRD processing center.  Narcotics should be taken to the Jefferson Co. Sheriff's Dept. or the Madison Police Department.
• Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) accepted every day during business hours.

Jennings

• Medical waste can be taken to the Jennings County Sheriff's Department
• Special Household Hazardous Waste collection 3rd Saturday of each quarter from 8am to 10am.

Ohio

• Rising Sun *offers curbside collection
• Medical waste and used sharps may be dropped off at the Ohio County Health Department.  Unused narcotics should be taken to the Rising Sun Police Department.
• Special collection of Household Hazardous Waste the 2nd Saturday of the following quarter month from 8am-10am.
• Ohio County's Re-Use Center is located at 154 State Rd. 56 in Rising Sun. Hours are Tues. & Thurs. noon-5pm and Sat. 8am-noon.

Ripley

• City of Batesville *offers curbside collection
• Town of Sunman *offers curbside collection
• Medical waste may be taken to the Ripley County Health Department in Versailles.  Unused narcotics should go to the Ripley Co. Sheriff's Dept.
• Special collection of Household Hazardous Waste the 2nd Saturday of each quarter from 11am to 1pm.

Scott

• City of Scottsburg *offers curbside collection
• Town of Austin *offers curbside collection
• Medical waste may be dropped off at the Medical Arts Pharmacy, Hancock's Pharmacy and Austin Pharmacy.  Controlled medications should be taken to the  Scott Co. Sheriff's Dept.
• Special collection of Household Hazardous Waste the 3rd Saturday of each quarter from 11 am to 1 pm.

Switzerland

• Town of Vevay *offers curbside collection
• All medical waste may be taken to the Switzerland County Sheriff's Dept.24/7.
• Special collection of Household Hazardous Waste the 2nd Saturday of the following quarter month from 8am to noon.
• Switzerland County's Re-use store is located at 507 Walnut Street in Vevay. Hours are Mon. & Wed.: noon -5:00pm., Sat. 8:00am-noon. Donations accepted during normal business hours only.
